[Ntop] pfring performance tuning

Hi

I have been using pfring for 1 month or so and I have the following
questions:

* Even if I set a high ring length, I tend to drop packets with 1G e1000
driver. When the ring initializes upon invoking snort, I dont get the high
ring length that I set (16384) but some low number .... why is this?

* If I send tcp connections at line rate, pfring tends to drop 10% of the
traffic. Any ideas how this could be improved upon.
