I do not understand this fully. You say that ipv6 and snmp is
enabled, but your patch is a solution for where snmp is enabled but
not ipv6.

In the compile flags in the reference below, then IPV6 is not
defined and that is the reason this patch work.

It looks like a good patch but I need to know what you actually
want to solve with it before it is accepted.
